The Joy of God’s Salvation

“By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.” Psalm 65: 5-8

Our God is the God of salvation. He is God who saves and desires his children to know Him and His everlasting love. This year God promised to bring salvation to His lost sons and daughters in Indonesia. The signs and wonders of healing, miracles, and power encounters were a result of a greater treasure that He prepared for his people. The greatest gift that God prepared for His people is salvation, and He made sure that all who witnessed it would see the power of His love in it’s greatest form.

I had expectation to see a multitude of people receive salvation and to experience God’s love beyond their own understanding. God did much more, and I witnessed the sweet surrender in receiving Christ. I preached at the orphanage Cinta Kasih on a Sunday on being transformed by the renewing of the mind, especially through hard times, and I invited to the altar those whom wanted to receive Christ. Six people received Christ and I rejoiced at what God has done for his people. The following week we were invited to a local church member’s house for lunch. After we finished lunch we waited patiently for the husband to come back from work, so that we could meet and pray with their family. As we waited, the wife explained that her husband has only attended church from time to time for her sake, but that past Sunday her husband grabbed her hands and asked her to go to the altar with him. Her husband received Christ for the very first time that Sunday, and he was overwhelmed with so much peace and joy. Our team rejoiced and prayed over their family, for God to continue to bless them with his presence and love.

I witnessed the sweet surrender of a man who didn’t know God until he experienced unexplainable joy and peace through Jesus Christ. God reveals that He has so much more. The gift of salvation is not just for the people of Indonesia, but it is for all his sons and daughters. I believe our team has brought back a powerful gift that will set the captives free, heal the sick, and make the blind eyes see. God has shown us that healing, and signs and wonders is a result of the gift of salvation. He desires his people to know his name, and for every tongue to confess He is Lord.
