Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:13-14

From our perspective it’s hard to understand the power of this statement. When Moses spoke these words to the Israelites there was no apparent way of escape for them. The Egyptians were coming up fast behind them and the Red Sea was before them. They were stuck!

But the man of God refused to believe that the people of God could be stuck, and so he boldly proclaimed the imminence of God’s intervention. God is about to show himself strong on your behalf right now!

Then, of course, Moses turned and cried out to the Lord in desperation . . . which indicates that he had no clue what God would do in the moment that he boldly proclaimed God’s intervention.

Do you have the faith to boldly proclaim God’s intervention, even when you have no idea how it will come about? Do you have the faith of Moses . . . the faith to believe that God’s people cannot possibly be stuck?

That is the kind of faith that God wants to release into our lives during this fast!

In what area of your life do you feel stuck? In what area of your life do you feel like you just don’t have the strength, the wisdom, the discipline, the resolve to overcome?

Stand firm and you will see!

In what area of your life are you facing situations that just don’t seem to change? In what area of your life have your efforts continually come to nothing?

Stand firm and you will see!

We are so good at repenting, but we are so bad at believing! We are so good at grieving, but we are so bad at expecting God to do something!

God wants to release a new revelation of the power of your prayers! You are never stuck! You are never trapped! You can’t be stuck; you are the people of God!

As you seek God’s face today, allow him to stir up the faith of Moses in your heart . . . the faith that would cause you to boldly proclaim in the face of adversity (to yourself and to others), Stand firm and you will see!!
